Williams House

Designed as a place for a young family to gather, learn, and grow, this home blends the timeless charm of a farmhouse with a clean, modern sensibility. The layout emphasizes connection and flexibility, creating spaces that support both family life and individual needs.

The first floor features an open plan that unites the main living, dining, and kitchen areas, fostering interaction and visibility across spaces. At the same time, a more private area was set aside for home learning, allowing for focus and quiet when needed. The children’s rooms were designed with “cozy corners” and imaginative nooks, encouraging creativity, pretend play, and a sense of independence within a nurturing environment.

Connection to the outdoors was a central priority. Expansive openings link interior spaces to shaded exterior living areas, enabling the family to enjoy the outdoors comfortably—even during the hot North Carolina summers.

The overall architectural expression reflects the farmhouse style, reinterpreted with modern lines, materials, and detailing. The result is a home that feels both rooted in tradition and perfectly suited to contemporary family life.
