Harborside Fountain Park
Harborside Fountain Park is a transformative 2.2-acre public waterfront space that has become one of Bremerton’s most celebrated community landmarks. The project was part of the city’s broader downtown revitalization effort, blending infrastructure, artistry, and landscape design into a civic destination.
At the heart of the park is its dramatic water feature: five wading pools, each highlighted by a striking conic copper fountain. These sculptural forms erupt with water in programmed intervals, creating a sequence of displays that range from playful bursts to elegant cascades. The fountains are not only visually captivating but also fully interactive, inviting children and families to engage directly with the water.
Surrounding the fountains, the park design integrates pathways, plazas, seating, and lush landscaping that frame expansive views of the Puget Sound and the adjacent naval shipyard. The result is a vibrant public gathering space that supports year-round use—whether for recreation, community events, or quiet reflection along the waterfront.
Harborside Fountain Park received the Landscape Architect Award in recognition of its design excellence, technical achievement, and lasting impact on the community. Today, the park continues to serve as a cultural and recreational anchor for Bremerton’s waterfront, symbolizing the city’s renewal and connection to its maritime setting.
